Youth Vision Screening

The Stittsville District Lions Club is committed to improving the health and well-being of our community's young people. One of the ways we do this is by offering free vision screenings for youths. The program is designed to identify vision problems early on, allowing children to receive the care they need before their vision problems worsen.

Our trained volunteers set up and begin the process of evaluating each child's vision. We use state-of-the-art equipment to check for common vision problems, such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. It will also screen for the possibility that your child may need to wear eyeglasses to improve his or her ability to see.

For children who are identified as having potential vision problems, we offer referrals to local eye doctors. We also provide education to parents and caregivers on the importance of regular eye exams and how to recognize the signs of vision problems in children.

Our free vision screening program is a crucial service for the community, as undiagnosed vision problems can lead to a range of challenges, including difficulties in school, social isolation, and even physical injury. By providing this service, we are helping to ensure that all children in our community have access to the care they need to thrive.
